This collection is built on friendship, a shared obsession with food, and the belief that great recipes deserve to be passed on.
A big part of it belongs to Aaron James Maree — one of the most gifted pastry chefs and people I ever had the privilege to know. For 14 years we cooked together and apart, competed constantly for fun and pushed each other every day. He wrote 16 cookbooks, made extraordinary work look effortless, and was one of the greatest people to ever walk into my life.
We always talked about building something together — we even had a name for it: 2M8S. Two mates. This is that, in its own way.
Inside is a celebration of his recipes, mine, and years of ideas too good to stay in notebooks. Aaron would have probably grumbled at this but also loved every bit of it.
